T S Eliot
(1880 – 1965)
Epstein was introduced to Eliot by a mutual friend. Eliot sat for Epstein in 1951, and Epstein later recalled these sittings with pleasure. Eliot was interested in the development of Epstein’s work and accompanied him to the foundry where “Madonna and Child” was being cast in lead. The bust of T.S. Eliot is on display at The New Art Gallery Walsall.
