Peggy Jean Epstein
Peggy Jean Epstein was Epstein’s first child. Her mother was Meum Stewart, an actress who had modelled for Epstein. Peggy Jean was brought up by Margaret Epstein in the family home in Hyde Park Gate, and in the early 1930s shared a room there with her father’s lover Isabel Nicholas. She attended Dartington School at the same time as Lucien Freud and later moved to America.
