Jackie was Epstein’s fifth and last child. He was born in 1934. His mother was Isabel Nichols, an art student who Epstein had met in 1932 when she offered to model for him. Isabel lived in the Epstein household for two years and moved to Paris after Jackie was born, leaving him behind. Margaret Epstein raised him and Kathleen Garman did not know of his existence until five years after his birth. Epstein hoped that Jackie would paint, and made him produce a picture a week, a task which Jackie did not enjoy.
When Margaret Epstein died in 1949 Peggy Jean Epstein took him back to America with her after the funeral. He became an engineer.
